Casa's FLIR

With the upcoming upgrade of the Casa's and the replacement of their current FLIR,is it possible that these surplus turrets could be reused on a different platform, the cessnas come to mind......as the equipment is already paid for, depends on the cost of modifying the ac's,would give a very cost effictive  short rang survilance asset.Hopefully the powers that be ,dont just dump them or relegate them to technical training ,this would surely be a terrible waste and a missed oppertunity.      '<img'>

FLIR's off the CASA on a Cessna. Are you serious. The Cessna can barely pull itself along. The ground clearance required is not possible with the Cessna and it would throw out the weights and balance for the C of G into the twilight zone. The only possible use could be on the EC135's or AB139 if it could be done. It would require a serious modification to any aircraft to support the weight of the FLIR assembly for flight and you would also have to get approval from the aircraft manufacturer as it could effect the type certification from the relevant countries Airworthiness Authority.
