Irish Air Corps / S-61 Lease
« on: February 05, 2004, 11:54:01 am »
another point i noticed from the report it states that the S-61 lease costing a total of €16.3 million isin't completed until 2005 will the aircorps now be continuing with the lease or will it return the aircraft early and hope to save the money in order to spend it elsewhere - or more to the point will they have a choice, no doubt the DOD will have an opinion......

Irish Air Corps / Future Spending
« on: February 05, 2004, 11:44:20 am »
From reading the Defence Forces 2002 annual report it shows that €16 million was allocated to the PC9 project in 2002 with a further €44 million remaining which should be completed by 2004 (end of presumably) this means that an average of €20 million euro has been spent each year on new aircraft for the last 3 years (2002-2004). Not to mention the €6-7 million spent on the Learjet that came out of other defence savings.

So from this can we expect a similiar expenditure in the coming years, and how much will the light heli fleet replacement programme consume? also what is likely to be the next replacement priority ofter the light helis?
