If you want Vulcan action you can always go to the Newcastle (Co. Down) Festival of Flight on August 10th, along with the Reds, Typhoon, F-86 Sabre, Miss Demeanour, etc, etc...

I've not seen any pictures but 270 is back at the Eurocopter factory for repairs, I think they are going to repair what they can, rebuild the rest and refit the original engines, avionics, etc, as they were not damaged in the crash.

Site Information / IrishAirPics.com on Facebook
« on: January 03, 2013, 09:01:38 pm »
Evening all,

I've set up an IrishAirPics.com / WorldAirPics.com presence on Facebook, you can visit the pages here:

http://www.facebook.com/irishairpics/
http://www.facebook.com/worldairpics/

While the Facebook page for IrishAirPics.com is based on the Photo Reports section of the website, the WorldAirPics.com Facebook page also allows me to connect WorldAirPics.com with a wider audience, people clicking on "Like" can help spread links to a particular picture much faster than sending links via email.

And over the Christmas, in line with setting up the Facebook page, I've added 3 prominent links below each picture that allow you to:

  • Like the picture on Facebook
  • Tweet the picture
  • Email the picture to a friend

Those links have always been there but now they are much prominent now, please feel free to promote your own pictures, there is no restriction on you clicking "Like" for your own pictures, more Likes = more hits for your picture.

Click here for an example: http://www.worldairpics.com/photo/1045946/

I'll be promoting pictures also, we'll drag IrishAirPics.com / WorldAirPics.com kicking and screaming into the social media age yet!

Happy New Year to all!

Regards,

Frank.

Hi Guys,

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been living under a rock for the last few weeks, trying to give the PC a break.

It's been a hectic 12 months for me, I really didn't feel the year flying. I'll try and get a few photo reports online over the next few weeks, let you all see what I've been up to over the last 12 months :)

Hopefully I'll bump into some of you again over the next 12 months, until then, have a safe and successful 2013.

Regards,

Frank.

Viper, I've no idea what the story is with the bent one, I think it is almost certainly going back to be straightened out though.

Given the fact that they are down to one EC135 following the hard landing a few months ago, and the sim access contract is for two years only, I would hazard a guess this contract is to tide them over until the one that got bent is straightened out and returned to service.
