From the Salthill Air Show website:

10TH APRIL 2009 - Saturday 30th May 2009, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Display Team "The Red Arrows" will perform a display at 12 noon (provisional timing) in Salthill as part of the Volvo Ocean Race.
Watch this space for another exciting display to be announced at a later stage.
The Reds are also mentioned here on the official Volvo Ocean Race Galway website:

Hi guys,
Will there be more than the red arrows and typhoon attending the airshow and if so when will the final line up be announced?

There is no airshow in Galway this year.... The Red arrows and Typhoon are just doing a display on sat 30th as part of the celebrations for the Volvo ocean race visiting Galway... :fryingpan:

Thats a pity, but at least the typhoon and red arrows will put on a good display. Pity they don't dispay at the bray airshow aswell. :airforce_angry:

Anyone know where they will refuel - Shannon or Galway and any times etc...

As always EINN is the base and they will arrive on the Friday, Tiffie will hopefully do a practice on the Friday at Salthill, im afraid i wont be allowed to release arrival times for EINN. Galway would always be out of the Option, RWY is miles too long and where exactly would you park 9 Hawk Jets and associated support aircraft??? :tounge:

I hope the Air Corps will have some kind of display at this event. Big international boat race arrives in Ireland and the ambassadors for the RAF are the main aerial highlight. Not that I'm complaining at all but I think some of our own Defence Forces should be represented.

Whiskey Section, i agree that there should be Air Corps involvement. However, there seems to be a history of missing golden PR opportunities. How impressive is it to see all the flypasts at american football games on youtube? well, we recently had the superbowl of Irish rugby in croke park and a chance missed! How impressive was the AW139 in Thomond park? I bet plenty of kids went home thinking how cool a job that must be.
Sorry, end rant. :banghead:

Its hard to know if the Air Coprs will do any displays at this event. The casa might make an appearence as its around galway sometimes but hard to know about the rest of the aircraft. The Pc-9s as yet don't have a display team so they might not turn up. I'm sure the EC135 would do a good display if it was allowed attend. AW139 ?? probably doubtful
:airforce_huh:
