Irish Air Corps / CHC SAR Helis
« on: January 18, 2006, 08:37:37 pm »
indeed there was a chance that the aircraft could have been lost...but aircraft can be replaced... it crews are the important factor!

Damage to 2 blades and the front panels of the cockpit... the Winchop got 6 stitches.. and was lucky not to have lost his hand, JM who was on the Deck got off the hook when he noticed there might be a problem about to happen (spilt second) and for the 6th time in his 30 years of SAR he was left behind and brought home by vessel....

The ppl were lucky, and the IAA will issue the report for u all to read soon enough! untill then ill keep the pics of the damage save! LOL

The Guys in 22Sqdn have indeed known this for a while, and yes alot of themn are making there way to companies like CHC... better money/benifits all round....
In fact that 22sqdn crewman may indded be here already as there are quite a few working for CHC.

Also i hear the Bristow Crews working where CHC took the contracts are also happy cause there pay is increased and its a better standard of working with CHC than with bristow..

hello ppl,

If the runway in finner was to be used for fixed wing, you would prob need to extend the runway, it would be a problem because there is a graveyard at the end of it... So i could see problems in that, but i love finner and its a grat station... and yes i would say that u would have to drag the current army pers out kicking and screaming out of the old SAR building.

Hi everyone,

its been a while since i posted... been away

The general thought is that the 61s will be replaced at some stage, but also the fact that the S92 is not tested i dont think that people are keen to be part of the "bugs" cleaning system that will happen once the S92s come into service.... The current s61s are suitible.

Oh and the build list for the AB139, i know that one of those purchases is going to a private owner!!

Irish Air Corps / Air Corps at an airshow near you
« on: July 02, 2005, 01:04:59 pm »
Hi

Just to let ppl know there is going to be  alot of heli activity around waterford for the tall ships, a landing site has been cleared right next to the funderland area on the docks, and i think Celtic Helis are going to be doing trips. The Landing site is dwarfed with tall antenna's, and the big wheel of course,  and once the ships are in place it might not be all that fun to be flying in and out of.

Hi lads,

Yes it is possible that the Gasu heli could be out and about, they are on 24hr call, but i dont thing it would be as routine as that pym, could be a private job doing business trips perhaps......

Hey everyone,

Just of topic a little, i was in shannon last week and was delighted to see and Air Corps picture in a local camera shop window where the owner of the shop was selling the prints.

This Patch agruement is sad, let the lads wear there patches and have the respect of each of the unique sections which are present, ive come across some great patches over the last few months here in Ireland and in the middle east.

Hi Guys,

The Eisg Sar Helo has been flat out this month so far with a high flying rate to this date, the route in and out of the airport would be fairly regular so i would think that you will see alot more of it flying close to your home. Need anything else just ask
