Aviation Photography / You and your Camera gear!
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:13:22 am »
Since this is a photography aviation orientated website we should all say a little about our camera gear.I look at some pics and think wow i wonder what lens and camera was used to get that shot!

I use an Olympus E-3 and an E-520 cameras.Lenses, Zuiko ED 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5(my cameras have a x2 crop factor so the lens is 100-400mm effectively), Zuiko ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD and im going to add the EC14 x1.4 Teleconverter before RIAT.

Thanks for the advice and replies.I think im going to go ahead and book flights and accommadation tomorrow.I found a lodge in gloucester about 16 miles from Fairford for £120 for 3 nights , so i'll just taxi it or bus it from there.Return flights, a roof over my head and tickets to the airshow should be had for around £230-50.Not too bad!anyone else staying in gloucester?

Im thinking about going to the show this year, but a few questions.Number 1, tickets!what sort of ticket should i buy?i was on RIAT's website and there are more tickets and passes than i can think off, quite confusing. Is there a ticket that allows you to walk along the static display and still get a good spot on the flightline?

Number 2, Is the display the exact same on both days and is it worth going both days?

Number 3, Accomadation, any recommendations from those of you that were there before?

Cheers.

What a shame the show is cancelled, looks like Portrush will be the biggest aishow in the country once again.Maybe the Air Corps could participate in the Airshow there this year, saying it is the 100th year of flight here?

Thanks Tony.

I assume going on to serve in another military? That would be remarkable if they did.
There must not be many of those 7.62mm guns left laying around for the Fouga's.
They must be secretly sending the AIII's and the armed Fouga's to Chad to support the army! ::)please note sarcasim everyone!

Would any of you guys be able to guesstimate how much it would take to pay for the show?If every person that attended the show donated a few euro, it would pay for itself and sure alot would give more than a few euro, i know i would!Would the merlin door issue and the more than likely rise in insurance be a factor also!?
