5 page technical write up on "Air Corps enhances air ambulance service" in Vol 62 Issue 2 of Engineers Journal. Should appear online here: http://www.iei.ie/webpages/pagedetails.pasp?pageid=101&menuid=23 in the coming few weeks. Will post to Air Corps News forum if/when I spot it. (See that forum for previous articles about the 135 and 139 in that journal).

No mention of 24hr service, but several references to Service Level Agreement. I didn't realise the 135 has clamshell doors. Also it talks about specialised military equipment for the 135 including fast-roping arm and rescue hoist but I thought they were 139 only.

Final sentence was interesting..."The AW139 'Medevac' system also provides for a possible overseas role for the aircraft should they be so deployed in the future."  :airforce_wink:

Thanks Fouga, been around a while (so long I even forgot my original account name!) but don't find things to post very often.

P.Doff, be sure to set Padraig (or whoever) from IWDG straight the next time they are onboard - no offence intended I am sure

Thanks Guinness.

I have been hanging around for a while...it's a great list with some great folks - hat's off to Frank. 'thumbsup'

By the way Frank, as you probably know, if those clips are just way too long or big for your site it might be an option to upload to something like video.google.com...

OK. Show's over. But apparently it will appear here. Some nice anecdotes. Listen to it while you are browsing the rest of the posts.

Enjoy,

Tune into RTE Radio 1 right now to hear documentary that seems to surround Aer Corps Museum. Lots of interviews with past folks.

Recordings may be available after the show on RTE website

Good luck.
