Selection for air corps pilots
« on: May 10, 2003, 11:52:52 am »
Hi I am hoping to start a topic on what the latest selection procedures are for pilot selection in the air corps. I know that there was an advertisment in february. If any body is currently going through this selection please can use put up a description of what you went or are going through and any thoughts about it. Also anybody else who has been through the procedures in say the last 3 years.
A detailed description of the latest recruitment procedures and tests would be most useful for all us wannabes out there.
Cheers and goodluck

Micky,
I'm currently going through the process at the moment,it is my first attempt though,I met some people up there with a lot of attempts under their belt. The www.military.ie website has a fairly detailed account of the current selection procedure.
Basically it's a preliminary interview first, very casual and relaxed atmosphere just to find out what you know about the aircorps and if you know basic technical stuff, not too difficult. Then there is the apptitude tests,if you've taken one at school maybe you should have a fair idea, some parts of it are trickier than others, mainly because of time restrictions.
I hope I passed them!
After that is the final stage I believe,I'm not too sure when the physical tests take place, after the results of the apptitude tests I believe.
After that theres the final hurdle! The final interview,a lot more technical I believe,a competency based(or structured) interview I think you call it,all in all very tough selection process, good luck if you apply next year. '<img'>
