Irish Air Corps / RAF Tucanos @ BAL
« on: July 05, 2011, 09:52:47 pm »
A long shot I know - but thought I'd ask anyway!

Three RAF Tucanos visited Baldonnel between 14-17 March this year and despite my best efforts I've been unable to identify them.

Any chance someone on here got photos of them on the ramp at BAL that they coud share?

Rgds,

Can anyone id the two French Alpha Jets that arrived on Paddy's Day?
Callsigns were FAF6470 & FA6471  (maybe someone got a photo of them on the ramp?)

One of them was coded 705-TA (its serial is believed to be E42).

The final battalion of Irish troops who had been on UN duty in Liberia returned home this evening.

They arrived aboard Omni Air B757 N639AX at 2004.

As far a I can recall its the first ever visit to Baldonnel of a Boeing 757.

Irish Air Corps / Spotters at Bal on Easter Sunday
« on: April 18, 2006, 11:11:53 pm »
For information, a large number of spotters who gathered at various viewing points around Baldonnel on Sunday morning to witness/photograph the launch and recovery of the formations of Air Corps aircraft endured a serious level of harassment/intimidation by members of the Garda Special Branch.

At least six spotters had airband scanners "confiscated" by these wonderful chaps whose behaviour was more in keeping with Police services from 3rd world dictatorships.
