Thanks for that, don't suppose there are any contracts for tanks/smoke?

Our PC9's do have six hardpoints. The outer two are reserved for underwing ferry tanks or smoke generators. The effect on the aircraft of all that stuff underwing is a higher fuel burn, loss of some airspeed due to drag and a "G" limit on the airframe for manouvres.

Thanks for that Claudel, hopefully you can answer a couple of supplementaries!

a) Do ALL 8 aircraft have 6 hardpoints?

b) Do we have 8 sets of tanks or smoke generators?!? ::)

I believe Chad only has one operational PC-9 and from pictures the only armament is crude bombs.

IAC PC-9's going overseas operationally.............. :fryingpan:   Stop taking those hallucinogens! :duh:

Agree with Buran, and with the White Paper and decision to move towards a proper military capability rather the utility/ATCP role for the IAC pretty much everything had to go.

Incidentally there are now several videos on the ex-IAC Dauphins available to view on You-Tube.  And when you consider the transport costs and time and effort involved in getting them to the USA, then a fair price probably was paid.  Even keeping the last 1 or 2 Dauphine going for the last few months was excessive for what they gave you.

What possible "operational reasons" could preclude a straightforward reply???  ;)

Additionally, does anyone know why the IAC decided to opt for just 4 hardpoints instead of 6?  And does anyone have any idea what the cost might be to add additional hardpoints and/or to upgrade to being able to use any missile systems in the future?
