Papa 242 may be able to shed some light on the Pink Panther connection, think it started to appear on the Allouette's  in the early 70's. :airforce_cool:

Scale Aircraft Modelling / AZ Hawker Hind 1/72nd.
« on: July 15, 2008, 02:44:10 pm »
Hi,
I got the Hind kit and the Air Corps scheme suggests putting tricolour bands on the upper wings, all references that I can find suggest roundels on upper surface of top wing and tricolour bands on bottom surface of lower wing only. Otherwise appears to be a good quality kit with nicely produced decals. Maybe a bit pricey though at €20.95, got mine in the Aviation Megastore near Schiphol. It has resin wheels some etched brass and an acetate sheet.

Hi,
It was Waterford based for some time, changed from G reg to IE while at EIWF, think it may have been with Cabair? while in UK, don't recall the G reg though.
Hope this helps.

Great to see the usual suspects (and one from Oz) turn out in Bunclody last weekend. The shite talk went on 'till all hours.
Time was if you had a half decent car or bike it would be noticed by your fellow classmates but flying in by chopper has to take the biscuit!  '<img'>

Anyone remember the time (way back) during Christmas 'festivities' when Peabrain's Bambino car was lifted up and carried away by a group of hard necked apprentices ?

Irish Air Corps / Scale model Fouga?
« on: October 29, 2005, 08:41:56 pm »
Just to clear up the Fouga colour issue, having spent many hours in Aer Lingus 'observing' the avionic upgrade, they were certainly painted aluminium when delivered and still were when I bought out in Dec. '78. Also they were still in aluminium finish on the many occasions that I saw them over the years since.

http://www.maxdecals.com/htmlpages/whatsnew.htm  is the latest updated decal sheet for the Air Corps including Fougas, Garda aircraft and Coast Guard S61.

Excellent pics Tony, brings back memories, I worked on many of these aircraft while in the Don 1973 to 1978. The 'Anson' spent all of that time in the 'Apprentice Hanger' except for the odd Families Day outing.
