Title: Airline food
Post by: thurian on October 15, 2010, 03:56:10 pm
Article in the news suggesting that the noise on airplanes affects our sense of taste.
I actually quite like the food served on airplanes and will eat mine, my partners, my daughters and anyone else around me who is willing to part with theirs. And no, I don't resemble Homer J or Peter Griffin (not yet anyway!)
Anyone else got an opinion on airplane food?

For some reason I like airplane food, non Ryanair food that is, and I always look forward to having the food on the plane.

Best airline food I ever had was on a Ural Airlines Ilyushin 86 from Ekatherinburg to Moscow-Domodedovo. Other than that I have to say Ryanair in fairness probably have the best sandwickes of any airline !

I think the topic here really is about the pre-cooked meals you get on full service airlines, the BBC had a report on this:

Best airline food I had was on FR. The missus made me some grand ham and cheese sambos, wrapped them in tin-foil and they were lovely........

Thought I was in Croke Park!

Generally speaking when I travel I cut it fine returning to the airport for a flight so I end up skipping food "on the ground" and have to get something on the plane... normally at that point the cardboard would taste nice I'm so hungry!
