Dig WW2
This three part programme has some aviation stuff in it! going out on Monday night at 9pm on BBC NI TV ( 14 May)
Presented by Dan Snow, Part one this week revisits a well-documented RAF crash in 1941. When Bud Wolfe, smashed his Spitfire into a Donegal bog in November that year. The crash caused a diplomatic row between Dublin and London. In this programme Mr. Snow focuses on the rediscovery of the Spitfire, showing how artefacts such as a Browning machine gun were found and restored.

Jonny McNee has published the story of his research in a book, The Story of the Donegal Spitfire. It is on amazon and can also be obtained directly from him, I have his email address. It is self published.
It is a wonderful addition to the battery of knowledge that exists on the war time crashes and landings in Ireland.
