I put this poll up to see what you all think of the current condition of Baldonnel. I personally would like to see Baldonnel get revamped and also new equipment. '>

I was just thinking how practical it would be for the Air Corps to build an off shore Helicopter Stations. It is practical and would be ideal, due to the great work of the Air Corps in saving people every year, from the sea.
Well just something to think about!!! '>

I think that the Irish Aircorps pilots should be fitted with F5's that are revamped. They would be ideal for Ireland and they could easily defend the Country.
I dont know about you all but if I was in Ireland at the moment I would be screaming at my reps to build up the Defence Forces in all areas.
I am not trying to rub it in, but I go to bed at night with the sound of F16's flying over the house. They are from an airforce national guard unit. Its time the Aircorps got the jets that can defend Ireland.
Silver, Lude and all you motivators on this board, I look forward to hearing your views on this topic. '>

What do all think about the Irish Defence Forces going back to the Congo? I hope the balooba's are not around.
My stance is simple on this issue. If the Irish defence forces are being sent into the Congo again, they better get some decent fire power and air support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The situation is a mess at the moment. Two UN observers have or ready being killed.

If the UN want the Irish Defence Forces to go in, they better fork over some cash for new equipment!!!!!
Its always the Irish Defence Forces leading the way in the UN.

I know if I was in charge of Casement Aerdrome, I would certainly build a better main gate.
My idea is simple- A big sign that reads Casement Aerdrome, Baldonnel. Head quaters of the Irish Air Corps.
I would have on either side of the gate- A fouga, and a Vampire on display.
The bottom line is it would be great for motivation and great for the people to see. '>

I was wondering will the Air Corps ever look into forming an Irish Air Corps reserve force? Just like the Irish Army and the Irish Navy Reserve forces.
"I was bord so I joined the Irish Air Corps Reserve"
Hmm-It would be good to get more young people involved in military aviation-I guess.

I added this topic to see if people from the Irish Aircorps will add some stories about the Aircorps when they served.
This topic is also open to current members of the Irish Aircorps and also if you know of any stories from family members that also served.
