« on: May 21, 2003, 08:40:00 am »
P Doff- You should try and tell some of the Lads at the Don to try and get a show made on the Irish Air Corps. It would be great for the whole Aircorps and show the people the work they do ever year all over Ireland.-well just an idea. '<img'>

Irish Air Corps / Should the Air Corps get fighter jets?
« on: May 06, 2003, 05:42:07 pm »
It wont be for a long time that we see a fighter jet in the proud colours of our beloved Irish Aircorps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will just have to see trainers flying around!!! In todays world I cant see many of the lads at the Don sticking around to play with third world hardware.

I will close by saying that someone better take a stand and revamp the entire Defence Forces!!!!!!!!!!! '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>

I am going to keep my answer short and to the point-Yes, I wish the aircorps got  a lot of new aircraft and jets would be on my list.  Bottom line it would be great to see the Air Corps get out of the third world and become a top notch organization.  I am sure the people in the aircorps would love to have everything that is mentioned in the above. I cant see people sticking around if things dont change.

Great subject Frank!!!!!

A very happy Easter to all the members of the Irish Defence Forces and also to everyone on this board. Lets hope that this time next year, that new aircraft are buzzing over the Nass Road and on the final approach to Baldonnel!!!!

Great comments Turkey indeed, lets hope that the Irish Tourist Board would look at your idea.  Turkey, you should look at getting a job with them. They have being in so much trouble for not being creative. I agree, that funds for this project should not come from Air Defence.  It would be great to see a display team from Ireland, traveling all over the world.
Bottom line is we need the Silver Swallow's back in the air!!!

Hey Silver,
Thanks for your comments. What was the reaction to them being disbanded?  Its sad because they won an major award over in England.  I am not happy with the new aircraft, I want to see our Aircorps flying in aircraft besides trainers. The Polish Airforce are purchasiing F16's, it annoys me becasue the Irish aircorps are falling behind.  I really hope to see some high speed fighters siting on the tarmac at Baldonnel some day. Ireland deserves better!!!!!! '<img'>

Does any one know if the Silver Swallow's are going to be geting any new aircraft in the new future. I am so upset due to the Fouga's being grounded. I grew up with them and always had great memories of them flying over Kildare and also at the Air Spac's in 86 and 87. The other thing that made them stand was the colors used. The aircorps do a fine job in keeping the aircraft they own in good order, I do hope in the new future that you they get new equipment.

Great comments indeed and I am glad to see people speak highly of the Irish Defence Forces.  I am tired of people knocking on them and its great to them get T.V. coverage. In closing great comments indeed by everyone discussing this subject.
