Irish Air Corps / what are they doing now?
« on: March 04, 2004, 05:44:54 pm »
hi bigwille,

after a good while the dauphins where fitted out for the neo nat incubator, it involves putting in the metal floor onto the heli floor with tie down points .. belive me it is a tight fit! then a devide is put up between the cockpit and the rear for night flying neo nate tranfers.. cockpit lighting etc.. its alot of work to put the machine in and out! very heavy..., did ppl now that the S 61 that the IAC has is not meant to do neo natal transfers! but it has been doing them...

Recently during a mission the baby being transfered had the be whats called BAGGED! due to a decrease in the level of oxygen that the baby was reciving! it turned out that the the oxygen bottle had either run out or was never turned on!, that baby had a lucky escape!...

Irish Air Corps / The Answer to our Medium Lift needs?
« on: March 04, 2004, 05:31:52 pm »
Hi everyone,

its been a while since ive been online.. up to my..., anyhoo i heard from a good line in the don that a helicopter company came in last week and "suggested that if" (HA HA) the Air Corps were to start a tender process that they would offer such and such... at a very good price... it will cause quite a stir if it comes off.. And the new Chief of Staff approched the air corps about helicopter transport for trops cause he is sick of hitching lifts from other nations while on missions overseas! and of course CSAR has been mentioned also...

For your info and scrutiney! lol
