Does anyone know how that effects the performance of the aircraft as all that slung under the wing will produce a lot of drag

This is the view I had, it's taken from the same bridge I was on.

Sorry Tony, I only had my phone with me and the pics I took were rubbish. I'm sure it will be on BBC or ITV this evening. There were huge crowds on the bridges and the river banks watching, the Red arrows trailed Red White and Blue smoke all the way up the Thames. I work beside Southwork Bridge, one along from Tower Bridge so I had a great view. The Typhoons look so much bigger than the Hawk when flown together.

I have just watched the RAF 90th Anniv flypast (13:00 hours). It was the Red Arrows in V formation with 4 Typhoons tucked in behind them. They formed up at London City Airport then flew up the Thames, then turned right over Whitehall. It was a fantastic sight.

It's HEMS on the cheap, but it's not really HEMS as they will not be available for call out to RTA's etc according to the Sunday Indo article. Will they have their machine guns in situ when transferring organs or patients between hospitals ????

Why not just set up a proper HEMS service ...... woops, that would cost money !!

What type of tasks does the Defender carry out, the heli's are more high profile etc, but I was wondering how the fixed wing aircraft is used, do they do their own "air escort" work or are the Air Corps 182's still used for this?

So the new "military type" heli's are still being used as a taxi service for Ministers. It really is a shame

Any pics available of the two of them together. Will the 3rd remain operational or is it planned to sell it?
