Maybe it's just me, but the lettering looks too small for an Airbus.

The Irish Fougas had a considerable avionic upgrade after delivery to the Air Corps. This upgrade was carried out by Aer Lingus at Dublin airport. I spent some weeks there 'observing' the upgrade being carried out. While I can't really remember for certain it's possible the static dischargers were fitted during this upgrade. ???

Scale Aircraft Modelling / Re: New Airfix 1/72 Air Corps Hurricane
« on: September 03, 2010, 10:37:32 pm »
I am always slightly amused by comments regarding the accuracy of colour schemes and markings on Air Corps aircraft, having served in the Irish Air Corps many moons ago I can report that colour schemes and markings varied from time to time even on the same aircraft. When aircraft returned to service after overhaul that included a respray it was not unusual to find subtle changes with markings and sometimes overall colour. Indeed in some of the published photos this can clearly be seen. So I wonder how anyone can be so certain that this scheme for the Hurricane model kit contains errors, yes there may be differences from the 'official' scheme but official schemes were not always adhered to.
I for one am glad that Airfix have released this kit with an Air Corps scheme, but am still curious as to the errors included in the colour scheme for 105.
Anyone care to enlighten us kitbashers?

Irish Air Shows / Re: Airshow 100 Punchestown 6-7th june 2010

A lot of time and effort went into organising this show, pity it now has to be cancelled. I'm sure the organisers are even more frustrated than those of us who were looking forward to attending.
Maybe next year?
Or maybe another location!!  ;)

Sure the government is too busy borrowing money to help Greece pay for the over $3 billion F 16 deal, than to invest in our military. Talk about getting our priorities right!  :duh:
