Irish Air Corps / 50 years of Heli Ops

The Air Corps celebrate 50 years of heli operations this week. Unfortunately due to the current economic climes the much talked about photo shoot/ families day/ open day (or whatever) had to be axed
Booooooo!!!
 
Ps: at no fault of the Air Corps or DF of course, these things are decided at a higher level.

I believe Emirates are to begin operating a B777 out of EIDW from May 1st and every other day after that.

Today marks a sad day in the Air Corps history. With the public service pensions deadline reached many have jumped ship from the Air Corps and Defence Forces as a whole with many more to go despite the deadline.

But rather than harp on about these hard times I'm hoping exer's , serving members (be sensible) and joe public can use this thread to share happy and funny memories of the Air Corps, wheather it be a funny incident in the hanger or where you a spectator at an Air Spectacular?

I myself have many many memories spanning over 25 years but I'd like to open the floor to yours.......

Hi all,
        Any members of the 55th out there wishing to have a reunion now would be a good time. 21 years is fast approaching and as S O'G pointed out to me with Leave,PDL and bank holidays taken into account the remainder of the dwindling 55th could go on April 26th if the wish.
Anyhoo, anyone out there fancy a reunion??

Aviation Waffle / Ethihad emergency at EIDW ??

At EIDW and seen an Etihad A330 land about 20 mins ago (08.05), it went out of site behind the terminal and has now just been towed back from the end of R28, totally powered down and being escorted by crash rescue vehicles!

Anybody with any info ??
