Irish Air Shows / Re: Flightfest Dublin - 15th September
« on: September 04, 2013, 07:23:11 pm »
Swiped from YouTube basically a "display Pilots briefing video for all pilots taking part in Flight Fest
some interesting points worth noting :

All aircraft will get 2 runs   :buttrock:
Baldonnell & Weston will also be departure points as well as Dublin

All UK inbound may be put on a southern hold before commencing display
It's all explained on the video including ATC FREQ

This YouTube link is very comprehensive and could prove helpful when deciding where you will position yourself on the day

Thank you kind sir! Enjoy ADX - it was always a favourite of mine!

Looking at the above list one thing strikes me

Why can't the IAA and other interested parties not invite any of the above aircraft to Display in a proper Airshow  the September date would be suitable since most if not all the aircraft may be available

Please Discuss......

Far too logical for the powers that be! Hope to see it at some stage - would probably have to be EINN for the A380 though (not a problem) :applause: :airforce_laugh:

Aviation News / Etihad to use 787 from Dublin
« on: June 11, 2012, 07:41:14 pm »
http://www.businesstraveller.com/middle-east/news/etihad-announces-dreamliner-routes

Etihad Airways has announced some of the key routes it expects to operate its B787-9 Dreamliners, the first of which will arrive in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The 300-passenger aircraft are being lined up for Dublin, Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Nagoya, Delhi and Istanbul.

Looks like a bit of welcome competition for the 777 to the gulf.  :buttrock:

the old Murphy colour photographs from  Baldonnel, Fermoy and God knows where else

What are the old Murphy photographs from Baldonnel, Fermoy etc???

Murphy colour - monochrome (black and white) - 'tis a saying from Langerland in the PRC! :alien:

This looks like the start of an initiative that could take off! The DF has a long and illustrious record that has included aircraft both at home and abroad - hopefully some of the old Murphy colour photographs from  Baldonnel, Fermoy and God knows where else will surface on this site - they will blend well with the modern UN missions as well as the current fleet of the IAC. Looking forward to seeing this site blossom!  :applause: :applause:

I've seen it a couple of days in the air in the last week over the general Maynooth, Celbridge area tootling around. Wondered what it was up to - but nice to see (and hear). Think it was Tuesday and Wednesday before the weather got worse.....

I'm a spotter - have never been called "crappy" before (maybe as a footballer etc.......) :-*

Ah - but think forward, when we grow out of the 787 and our next leader wants a 380....
