Portrush Airshow
« on: August 03, 2006, 02:07:08 pm »
'<img'> Hi all
This will be my first time to travel to the Portrush Airshow ive been making the annual pilgrimage to salthill for a few years now
The Portrush show is looking impressive (can only make it to the Sunday Event)
Can anyone tell me which would be the quickest route to go Through Belfast or Derry/Londonderry or has any one out there got a better suggested route Planned?
Kind Regards

Greetings again!!!
Hello Guinness

Well it look like I the old AA route Planner for me
Unfortunately my work restricts my travel plan at most weekends a bit so I just visit Irish Airshows for now,
I’d love to visit Fairford RIAT next year if the pics that Frank Grealish .has of this yeas line up  is anyway close to what's planned next year

Joey,

wanna go cheap and see a great airshow....?

Visit the Open Dagen from the RNLAF in Volkel.

Cheap flights, great static and a briljant airshow.
And..... most important....... great beer and beautifull women out here 'pilot_grin'

Hope to see you on this side of the water!!

Easiest way up from Dublin ,M1 to border,A1 to Sprucefield,M1 to Belfast,Westlink through Belfast to M2 (roadworks so possibly slight delay though not bad at weekends ),M2 until junction for Ballymena then Ballymena ,Ballymoney,Portrush,as you enter Portrush go right at the first roundabout and try to get to the top of the cliffs at Ramore Head to the east of the bay, best viewing spot.Motorway dual-carriageway most of the way easy drive.Should take you around 3 1/2 hrs.A lot easier drive than me going to Salthill.

Hi Sniper
Motorways! Duel caraways! Yep!!!! I’m sold on that route
Its funny I have a Route finder Program and it seem to take me on a 4 Hour aprox Road trip
I thought these programs where designed to get you there fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the Display line up!!
It indicates on the website that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flypast is on Sat only !
Where as the Red Arrows are displaying Sunday only!

I presume the usual conditions apply. Weather, ect
The F-15s which “er” Flew by so to speak at Salthill this year, where a last minute inclusion
I suspect we’ll have much of the same at Portrush
 No Shows! That is
(If I ever find the place)
