Another Irish Spitfire damaged
« on: May 03, 2008, 06:13:03 pm »
Just read that the Duxford based former Irish Air Corps Spitfire G-CCCA ex 161 had an undercarriage collapse during taxying in Netherlands. The HFL owned Spitfire is the second in a week, bad time for ex Air Corps Spits.

The latest is that the aircraft had a new prop fitted and was flown from Lelystad back to Duxford for a more detailed inspection. It seems therefore that no serious damage occurred.
