Hi all

Just a timely reminder that tomorrow afternoon around 2:00 ish all 8 PC9M will be in formation flight for the first time. It is a photo call so have your camera's and packed lunch ready. We think some of the flight will be around Bray and the rest over Baldonnel. Has to be confirmed exactly where and when.

It was only confirmed this evening when the eigth A/C came off scheduled maintenance.

Had the pleasure of seeing this, alas no pics to show you guys. Nice formation, they just popped over this direction (Naas) before landing.

I eagerly await frantic reports on Indymedia saying 8 USAF fighter jets were spotted over Dublin/Kildare/Wicklow  'pilot_laugh'

A fine formation indeed - it used "Eagle 8 section" as their callsign.  Anyone know the reason for the "Eagle"?

hi all
Given that this event is as rare as hen's teeth, I hope it happens more often than the once-a-decade Alouette group flights, what with the greater servicability of the Pc-9s.

Nice pic of all 8 ..... I notice all planes are "2 up". Does that mean that most of the Irish Air Corps was in the air in that flight ?

it just means that there are instructors,PC-9 maintenance staff or freeloaders aboard.The ancient art of blagging a flip is not yet dead. 'pilot_wink'

The reason was to mark the PC-9 fleet reaching 5000 flight hours.

B Who needs a reason?
This is the second largest single type formation of Air Corps aircraft that I have witnessed ( I missed the eight Alouettes). The largest was nine Chipmunks a million years ago. I wonder were there any large formation flights of Miles Magisters and or Miles Masters.
