I think there is a very good chance but don't want to jinx it.

Video from yesterdays tests.

The Vulcan is flying at Waddo, but not landing. That means that I would think now that she will be at RIAT and hopefully taking off and landing.

If vulcan is displaying at Waddo there's no reason why she should't take part at RIAT

I hope Vulcan (If permitted) will be based at Fairford for RIAT and not restricted to doing a couple of flybys
Got to have the distinctive “HOWL” then steep climb for her display :buttrock:

 So fingers crossed

Just that there is a IAC PC-9 at Beauvechain International Air Show this weekend. It's 262 as seen here http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24603#p245320

Shame they can't send anything to RIAT especially as there is a specially Battle of Britain fly past for countries that partook in it.

Hi Vulcan,

There are two things you have to take into account here...

Money & permission

If I remember correctly from last year the Air Corps were allowed to attend 10 overseas events, possibly even less.

The Air Corps get numerous invites for events every year and they can only accept so many invites.

On top of that the Department of Defence has final say on participation and politics can always play a part.

All I'm trying to say is that it may not be an Air Corps decision, it could be money but it could also be politics.

Regards,

Frank.

Last time I checked my “1982 School Atlas” Belgium was a tad further away from England that’s if you departed from casement  :stirthepot: :rotfl:

I too am slightly disipointed  :airforce_sad:

Would have been nice to catch a glimpse of either a PC-9 or even an AW-139 amongst the aircraft taking part in the planned fly-past at RIAT to commemorate those who took part in the BoB

Did you ever think that the theme of the flypast might be the political sticking point? Or that maybe a decision was taken to support other air shows this year? Maybe the Air Corps are still waiting on final sign-off of the visit to RIAT?

Who knows...

Brian Cowan recently invited The Queen to Ireland.  Some years ago the Naval Service took part in the 200th Anniversary celebrations of the Battle of Trafalgar.  I can't see the reason being political.

I'm only mentioning some reasons that I've heard over the years, that's all.

Besides, I think there will be some Air Corps participation at RIAT but probably static only.
