Awards, Michael Whelan

Congratulations are in order to Airman Michael Whelan MA, Curator of the Irish Air Corps Museum and Heritage Centre.
He has been awarded a Paul Tissandier Diploma for 2010 by the the FAI on the nomination of the National Aero Club of Ireland. The delegates to the General conference 2010 in Dublin were very impressed with their visit to Baldonnel and especially the Museum.

Michael was also awarded joint second place in the Patrick Kavanagh International Poetry Award 2011

Michael received, from the FAI the Paul Tissandier Diploma 2010 in recognition of remarkable service to aviation at a reception at Baldonnel on 11 January 2012.It was presented to Michael by the NACI.Picture taken at the presentation shows Brig Gen Paul Fry GOC Air Corps with Michael.
