100 Years of Flight
« on: December 16, 2003, 06:53:57 pm »
There was a report on RTE Six One News this evening about the 100th anniversary of Flight.

The report included footage of the Air Corps Wright Flyer replica (which is now almost complete), one of the Fougas (the reporter aluded to the fact that we no longer have 'fighter aircraft'), footage from inside the cockpit of the Avro Anson and black and white film of the Galdiators in action in the 40's.

There was also footage from inside an Alouette, which over flew Casement Aerodrome - showing 2 x Cessnas, GASU Defender and Twin Squirrel on the ramp.

(The report was circa 3-4 mins long).

There will be a special documentary about 100 Years of Aviation on RTE's 'Nationwide' programme tomorrow night.
(N.B. - This programme may well include much AC footage)
