Irish Air Corps / Qatar Air Force Poaching ?
« on: February 18, 2010, 08:51:34 pm »
I see in the Indo today the Qatar Air Force is looking for AW139 Techs.
Interesting that they are advertising in Ireland the only other military using the 139.

With pay cuts and pensions levies etc. I'm sure some will consider jumping ship....

'The imagery that is projected onto the screen is based upon satellite and digital photography of the Irish countryside including the Baldonnel area. This brings a high degree of realism to operations around the airfield area.
Similarly the runways of all Irish airports, as well as those in the UK and a portion of Continental Europe are available.'

Irish Air Corps / Flying Kit
« on: January 03, 2006, 12:26:53 pm »
Does anybody know where the Air Corps get their flying kit from, I notice that they are back wearing green flying suits (US style?) Are they issued with fireproof undergarments as mostly you see them just wearing the army greent t-shirt or does it depend on what you are flying. Also do they were normal army boots when flying or is there some sort of special flying boot that they use?  Thanks....
