anyone here know where I can get Dayglo paint as was used on the Fouga's? I mean the real paint for real aircraft, not for a model.

Any decent auto paintshop should be able to sort you out with some.

The real stuff was a mix of white(base coat that help reflect light!) and whatever the dayglo orange stuff was called, probably dayglo orange stuff. Its lethal without proper mask and stuff!!!!

Hi there
Try Sikkens for aircraft paint.White first, then dayglo or International Orange on top.

Hmm, I looked up Sikkens on Google and they seem to be part of AkzoNobel paints. I'll try e-mailing them

I am just browsing older topics....

Did you get this paint and did you get any satisfaction with it, Fouga?
I am interested, from "proffessional" point of view...

Akzo Nobel has it, but haven't ordered any yet. 10liter minimum order and its rather costly :s. It's called Daylight Reflecting System RAL3024.

Fouga 23, 10lt minimum that's around €600,- plus hardener plus thinners plus basecoat  'thumbsdown'
Try some other brands: Createx has fluorescent colours in its AutoAir brand. These paints are used by custom painters and airbrushers. You can get 10ml plastic can, 0.5lt... Price for 10ml is aroun €10. You'll need white base coat and then clear lacquer to finnish this job. AutoAir are water based paints and are truly excelent. It may sound too complicated, but it's not and it's much cheaper than buy 10liters of "waste".

for more info, hope this'll help

yeah, I know, but you can't use that on aircraft ;-) Fouga, I'm not painting anything. This is just a possibility I'm exploring.

I don't know what do you exactly mean by this: "You can't use it on aircarfts..."
It is basicaly the same like use of polyurethans, whatever the brand is, and, in the end of the day, cheaper... I am using AutoAir paints successfully on every material I came across - fibreglass, aluminium, plastic, metal, paper....
But, choice is yours  '[:sus:'
