Aussie vark pilots are mental anyway. Its official.

Anyone who thinks that lighting the fuel you are dumping with afterburners is a good idea deserves all the treatment in psych ward they can get.

Hi all
The guy with the gold-coloured harness has a sound "boom" in his right hand.He probably spent some time in the studio later, filtering out the sound of his kax filling and his heart stopping!

RMR,
That's why I always think that the Patruoille de France put on a better show than the Red Arrows. OOPS...... At Baldonnell anyway.

Hi all
It takes a very fine line to say that one display team are better than another, given the tiny margins for error that exist in display flying. All of the major teams have suffered deaths and aircraft losses, not to mind third-party losses thru low flying and other accidents.Perhaps it's a case of different philosophies that drive the different teams.I doubt if any member of the PdeF would regard the Arrows as being sub-standard, and vice-versa.I have always regarded any visit by the Arrows as very, very welcome, given the sometimes fraught relations between our countries.Incidentally, having witnessed several hissy fits by French participants at airshows in the Don,I might be a little jaundiced about them.Any time I ever encountered RAF/Army/RN personnel at the Don, they were always good-humoured, always open to questions about their aircraft and always willing to allow the Donners to poke around their aircraft.I even had a thorough tour of an AAC Lynx at Cranfield one year, once I identified myself as a Donner.

I remember seeing one display team whose ground crew, if the weather prohibits their usual display routine, do the flying display, on suitibly modified motorcycles....
