                                                      “When Britain Ruled The Skies”
Looks like them nice chaps at the BBC have made a two part TV programme about British Aviation. Part one is going out this week on BBC 4.

Programme 1 – ‘Military Marvels’ will transmit from 9pm-10pm on BBC 4 on Wednesday 22nd August 2012.

Programme 2 – ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ will transmit from 9pm-10pm on BBC 4 on Wednesday 29th August 2012.

These programmes could well be based on the James Hamilton-Paterson book ‘Empire of the Clouds’ we will see.

Amazing, goodness me very stirring stuff from Raymond Baxter excellent programme and a superb commentary, as ever, from Mr Baxter.

I to remember watching this live at the time. Just sat and watched it right through (god 1974!), a great find. I think it was a Friday evening starting at 8pm, on BBC one. I remember a TV had been rigged up in our ATC HQ otherwise we would have all stayed at home to watch it and missed our parade night!
