can anyone tell me if they think/know if the new EC135s will have SAR winches fitted.

prob have a facility for ARW fast roping but i doubt for SAR.

I doubt they`ll have a system for the ARW, thats what the AB139s are for.

Hi Folks,any update on the Ec135,if they are due for delivery in october they must be on flight test now or very soon.On the same thread,have AC personnel gone to eurocopter for training?    '<img'>

First batch of pilots are in Germany training on the Air Corps machines as we speak.

Keep an eye on the above site, It will probably be the first place photos of our new Helis will appear. Worth remembering too that while being tested, they will fly with temporary German Civilian reg.

The 135s will have a number of capabilities which will include the fitting of a SAR winch, abseiling, & external cargo hook. Until the arrival of the 139s the 135s will have a number of different operational roles apart from the obvious training requirement. With the arrival of the more capable 139s the 135s can then focus on their training roles.

I believe the machines will likely arrive together from Germany.

That would be nice, but I just cannot see it happening. dare I say it, it might look to military for the suits in Gov.

I would imagine a helicopter version of whats currently on the PC-9s would suit best (like the current helicopters), but didnt someone mention before that some scale modelling mag did an article and gave a colour scheme for both EC-135 and AB139 as overall dark green?
